FREE FAMILY CHRISTMAS EVENT - INDOORS AND OUTDOORS
Our first family Christmas Sparkle event will take place on Sunday 28th November 2021 from 10am to 4pm at Bakewell Agricultural Business Centre (ABC). Santa's helpers are busy planning this fun, FREE family day out, which will be packed with local food, drink, animals, stalls, demonstrations and much more.
🎅🏻 Meet Father Christmas
Bakewell Rotary Club have managed to pin the man himself down to come along to meet children at Bakewell Christmas Sparkle. Meeting Father Christmas is free but donations for the Rotary Club's nominated charity are gratefully received.
🦌 Real Reindeer
Although they'll be preparing for their big night on Christmas Eve, a few of Father Christmas's reindeer will flying into Bakewell. Come and meet these beautiful animals and enjoy a truly special Christmas experience. Find out more about our reindeer here.
🎨 Children's Christmas Crafts with StraightCurves
We are delighted to be welcoming Chesterfield's StraightCurves for some special festive craft sessions. Children can make JumpingCLAY gingerbread men decorations (£5), polar bears (£2), 3D robins (£4), woolly baubles (£1) and festive badges (£1).
🎄 Christmas Card Making
Children can also come and make a Christmas card with BAHS at a cost of just £1 per child to cover materials.
Bakewell Silver Band will be regaling visitors with Christmas carols and seasonal songs from 12-1pm and 1:30-2:30pm, raising money for their nominated local charity.
Enjoy festive choral performances at intervals throughout the day with Chesterfield's Peak Performance, who will also be raising money for charity.
As well as selling beautiful festive wreaths and hand-tied arrangements, Bakewell's Violets & Daisies will also be demonstrating how to make your own.
Bolsover's Just Roll With It Cakes will be demonstrating cake decorating techniques and selling some of their handcrafted produce.
INDEPENDENT FOOD & DRINK VENDORS
Head for Tipple Adventures' horsebox bar to enjoy fresh coffee, hot chocolate and festive cocktails.
Scott, Ben and Jamie from Cross Scythes Catering will be warming visitors with delicious chef-prepared curries and accompaniments; perfect for the colder weather.
The Gin Hare
Our event wouldn't be complete without festive hot drinks; indulge in mulled wine and gins from Ashbourne's The Gin Hare.
Cally and Ivan Heath bake their delicious oatcakes using an old recipe passed down from Ivan's late mother and stuff them with all manner of delicious hot fillings.
It wouldn't be a Derbyshire event without a Frederick's ice cream van! Make sure you bring your gloves...
