Sheep Competition

We are delighted that sheep competitions will return to Bakewell Showground for the first time since 2017, as part of our third Bakewell Country Festival. With £780 in prize money up for grabs this competition is not to be missed!

​

We would like to extend our sincere thanks to local farmer Harry Madin for his hard work arranging and running the competition and to Taylor Emmet (Peak District office) and Mr Terry Pool for their generous competition sponsorship.

 

Entries cost £5, pens cost £2. Young Handlers class entries are free. Please download the schedule and entry form below for more information. Applications may be made online or via post.

- Young Handlers (ages 12 - 18)

- Best Tup Teeth - for fun

- Best Sheep Dog (Border Collie) - for fun

The prize money for all adult classes is as follows:
1st place: £20
2nd place: £10
3rd place: £5
Champion 1st: £20

Champion 2nd: £10

Champion 3rd: £5

Class rosettes will be awarded 1st-4th

The prize money for the Young Handlers class is as follows:

1st place: £10

Rosettes awarded to all participants
