HEAVY HORSE COMPETITION

Entries for 2026 classes will open later in the year:

CLASSES

 

CLASS 1: Brood Mare Class

CLASS 2: Foal Class - Colt

CLASS 3: Foal Class - Filly

CLASS 4: Yearling Class

CLASS 5: Two Year Old Class

CLASS 6: Three Year Old and Over

CLASS 7: Barren Mare or Gelding Four Year Old and Up

CLASS 8: Any Other Heavy Horse Breed

CLASS 9: Young Handlers Class (free to enter, winner qualifies for Young Handler championship at the Midland Shire Foal Show in September, open to ages 12 - 18)

Please either include a cheque for the full amount for all your classes, or phone 01629 812736 between 9am and 2:30pm (except Wednesdays) to make payment by bank card over the phone. BAHS classes are £5 each to enter.

 

 

PRIZE MONEY

The prize money for the adult classes is as follows:
1st place: £50
2nd place: £40
3rd place: £30
4th place: £20
Overall Champion: £100

​

The prize money for the Young Handlers class is as follows:

1st place: £30

2nd place: £20

3rd place: £20

4th place: £20

​

The Shire Horse Society Silver Spoon and rosette will also be awarded.
